About Jatropha Curcas

Jatropha Curcas is predominately a Bio Diesel crop, as well as having pharmeceutical and industrial values.

The Jatropha Curcas plant will tolerate a wide range of soil types and will grow in poor dry soils that are well drained and will withstand drought conditions while having the capacity to respond to irrigation.

1 Tonne of Jatropha Curcas Seeds will yield 350 – 400 Litres of Bio Diesel.

Jatropha Curcas prefers temperatures averaging 20 – 28°C, however will withstand temperatures as low as 5°C for short periods.

Recommended planting rates of Jatropha Curcas are 2,500 plants / Hectare.
